Caribbean Poker Protocols and Pointers

Poker has become globally famous as of late, with televised championships and celebrity poker game shows. The games popularity, though, arcs back in reality a bit further than its TV scores. Over the years many types on the first poker game have been created, including some games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely affiliated with vingt-et-un than old guard poker, in that the gamblers wager against the bank instead of the other players. The winning hands, are the established poker hands. There is no conniving or different kinds of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up before the croupier saying "No further bets." At that moment, both you and the house and of course all of the different players receive 5 cards each. Once you have observed your hand and the dealer’s 1st card, you need to either make a call wager or give up. The call wager’s amount is equal to your original wager, indicating that the stakes will have increased two fold. Surrendering means that your ante goes directly to the casino. After the bet is the showdown. If the dealer doesn’t have ace/king or better, your wager is returned, including an amount in accordance with the original bet. If the casino has a hand with ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand defeats the dealer’s hand. The bank pays chips equal to your ante and set odds on your call wager. These expectations are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for 2 pairs
  • three to one for 3 of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
