No-Limit Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before his first birthday. His grandfather taught Phil penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was hooked on poker and wished to learn every little thing he possibly could about the game. Phil would tell his elders that he was going to be a professional poker player. He didn’t permit the detrimental feedback from others kill his dream of becoming one of the strongest poker players in the world.
He began playing intently after acquiring a false ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his abilities at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The first number of years for him were a teaching experience and winning was not a normal outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he made two final tables and came away with his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the closing table he destroyed a number of the better known professionals including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil decided to take his skills to the next level and moved out west to Sin City. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to hard work and an undying love for the game of poker. Phil states that he’s learning every single day and is quite abashed about his achievements. Phil admits to making blunders every single session of poker and constantly aspires to improve.
Even though Ivey has come first in some big-time tournaments, he prefers destroying cash games on a regular basis.
