Net High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen
Posted in Poker on 09/04/2025 05:25 pm by ChristopherGus Hansen had a wonderful year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only player to make it to the final poker table in 3 of the competitions. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might recall one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker recorded history up against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen won a huge pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Gus has earned many tv poker appearances and is thought to be one of the strongest bettors around the world. While betting on net poker, another side of Hansen has emerged. He often competes in the 200/400 NL max buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen generally buys-in for the minimum of $16, 000 and plays very weak. He sits there waiting for a decent hand and then pushes all-in. I believe Gus is an amazing poker player but certainly not even close to the familiar players at 200/400NL. Unless he is broke, he has no reason to settle at the game with the minimum buy-in.
Buying in for the minimum takes almost all of the skill out of deep stack poker. Hansen is assumed to be one of the best poker players in the world but he can’t buy in for the full dollar value. I think tv can alter our perception of the real world at times. The best poker players in the world could be players you have never heard about. Gus can be found betting on web poker on Full Tilt. He normally plays in high stakes omaha hi-low and Holdem. Gus has shown himself as a competition player. Can he back up his talents in money rounds?
