Gus Hansen enjoyed a marvelous year on the WPT where he was the only player to make it to the last poker table in 3 of the events. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might recall one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen secured a large pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Gus has earned many televised poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the greatest enthusiasts around the world. While playing internet poker, another side of Hansen has emerged. He frequently competes in the 200/400 NL max buy-in of $40, 000. Hansen usually buys-in for the minimum of $16, 000 and gambles very poorly. He sits there waiting for a good hand and then goes all in. I believe Gus is a great poker player but not even close to the regular players at 200/400NL. Unless Gus is broke, he has absolutely no reason to sit at the table with the minimum buy-in.
