NL Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been labeled as the greatest poker contender on the globe by many of the top-ranked pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before reaching turning 1. His grandpa taught Phil penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was hooked on poker and wanted to learn whatever he possibly could about the game. Phil routinely would tell his parents that he was planning on being a professional poker player. Phil did not allow the detrimental feedback from other people annihilate his ambition of becoming one of the best poker players on the planet.

Phil began competing seriously after acquiring a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his skills at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The first number of years for Phil were a teaching opportunity and winning was not a regular thing at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 WSOP when he made two final tables and won his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the last table he defeated many of the well known professionals including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Vegas. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Ivey credits his achievements to hard work and a continuing passion for the game of poker. Phil states that he is picking up skills every single day and is very abashed about his accomplishments. He admits to making errors in each session of poker and constantly aspires to get better.

Even though Phil has won some big-time tournaments, he prefers winning cash games on a normal basis.
